How to get here
Fabric Hostel is in Portici, a quiet neighborhood only 7 Km. far from the downtown. Portici is easily reachble thanks to many different means of transport: trains, buses, hydrofoils and highways.

Railways Transportation
In order to better undertand which mean of transport better suits our needs, it's important to understand the difference between two railways that get here in Portici:
-Trenitalia is the National Railways company, it connects all the cities in Italy and Naples' main station is Piazza Garibaldi. Some Trenitalia trains stop in Portici as well (15 minute trip). Moreover, there are some Trenitalia Trains stopping in and leaving from Portici, which are also part of the metro system, that means that if you want to get to a metro stop leaving from Portici, you can get a train that will allow you to get there without changing train in the central station.
- Circumvesuviana is instead a local railways company that connects the central station (Piazza Garibaldi) to all the towns and neighborhoods around the Mount Vesuvius (circum-vesuviana=around-Vesuvius). It has 4 main lines and the ones that suits us/you (!) are those destined to: Sorrento, Torre Annunziata, Torre del Greco and Poggiomarino.
Let's check on the map!
Trenitalia - Metronapoli The closest Trenitalia station is "Portici - Ercolano".
From Naples downtown, trains leave from Napoli Centrale (regional (R) and interregional (IR) trains, get off at the stop called Portici - Ercolano) or from the undreground station of Piazza Garibaldi (metro trains, get off at the stop called Portici - Ercolano): in this case, just be aware not to catch the train whose last stop is "Gianturco" because it won’t get to Portici - Ercolano. Timetable: First train at 4:50 am - Last Train 10:18 pm - Trip : about 12 min.
Once you exit from the station of Portici-Ercolano, right in front of you there is Corso Umberto I (you can recognize it because there are trees on both its sides): follow this street till you get to Piazza S. Ciro. Now just look at the big church in the square, via Bellucci Sessa is the small street on its right. After less than 50 mt. there is the main entrance on the right (house number 22).
Tickets: you can buy the "UnicoNapoli" ticket that costs 1.10 euro, it lasts 90 minutes and you can use it for every mean of transport in the Naples area. You can buy the ticket in every station, tabacchi store, newspaper sellers and you must validate it every time you get into a mean of transport.
For infos and timetables: www.trenitalia.it, search for departure = Naples - destination = Portici.
Circumvesuviana trains The closest station is ""Portici - Via Libertà".".
From Naples: the terminal of Circumvesuviana line is inside the central station of Naples. Just take any train direction Sorrento, Poggiomarino via Scafati, Torre del Greco, Torre Annunziata (don’t take the Direttissimi - DD on the timetable - because they don’t stop in Portici), usually they leave from platform 3: there are 8 stops and the trip is about 15 minutes. From Sorrento, Pompei, Ercolano or any other station of the line Sorrento-Napoli: just take any train direction Napoli. Be careful not to take the trains marked Direttissimi - DD on the timetable - because they don’t stop in Portici. Timetable: First train at 5 am - Last Train 11:00 pm - Trip: about 15 min.
Once out from Portici station, turn on the right and cover the brief way till Via Libertà, then turn left and go down till the big square called Piazza San Ciro. Now just look at the big church in the square, Via Bellucci Sessa is the first on its right: after less than 50meters you get our main entrance on the right (house number 22).
